Facebook began testing mid-roll ads in video during 2016, and is expected to expand the program platform wide in 2017. What to expect:
• the original content video will only qualify if it is 90 seconds or longer,
• the user completes at least 20 seconds of view of the original video,
• the mid-roll ad will be 15 seconds,
• the creator/ publisher of the original video will receive 55% of the ad revenue
Analysts view this move towards mid-roll ads as matching Facebook's move towards becoming a full-fledged video platform.
