DIY: Facebook call to action button

Facebook has a very handy feature: the option to place a simple call-to-action button at the top of your Facebook Business Page. The CTA's functionality is pretty simple: You choose from five pre-made button options ("Book," "Contact You," "Learn More," "Shop," and "Download App") and place your telephone number, email, or website. It could link to your home page, a landing page, a contact sheet, a video ... the possibilities are endless.

A good rule of thumb? Link your new CTA to a page that aligns with your current business goals. After all, Facebook created them to "bring a business's most important objective to the forefront of its Facebook presence."

How to Add a CTA Button to Your Facebook Page

Step 1: Log in and go to your business' Facebook Page.

Step 2: Click the "Create Call-to-Action" button.

There are five options to choose from. For most small businesses with a physical location, the "Contact Us" option works best. Under Contact Us, there are five more options to pick from: "Contact Us," "Send Message," "Call Now," "Sign Up," and "Send Email." I should note here: these options often change, and vary between users. For most small businesses with a physical location, the Call Now option works great. But other options might work best for you. For example, if a top business goal is to grow your subscriber base, you might choose "Sign Up" and send users to a landing page where they can subscribe to your blog or newsletter. If you chose "Call Now", next select "Add your phone number", enter your number, and click Save.

Now, you're all set to start receiving calls (or website visits, etc.) from your Facebook Business Page.
